Techniques
At Stained Glass Art we encompass a variety of techniques that combine skill and creativity, to showcase the natural beauty of glass itself.
Tiffany
The Tiffany technique involves the precise cutting and shaping of individual glass elements, each wrapped in copper foil to allow for seamless integration. These meticulously crafted pieces are then expertly soldered together, resulting in complex, intricate designs. We often use this technique in our lamps, windows, and decorative pieces.
Fusion
In fused glass art, we take pieces of glass and carefully arrange them before heating in a kiln to fuse them together at high temperatures. The result is a smooth, durable surface with seamless patterns, incorporating textures that create a dynamic, contemporary look. We often use this technique in our accessories.
Enameling
Glass enamelling is a powdered paint that is applied to glass surfaces and then activated through heat. When heated, the powder fuses to the glass, creating rich, vibrant colours and intricate designs that are both durable and stunning, perfect for adding depth and texture to any artwork. We use this technique in all our products.
